Taste Waterford presents the trail of a lifetime with the Mountain Splendour Taste Tour. Embark on a 6 hour journey through the interesting Mountains of Comeragh. Johnny Landers - your tour guide - spills all the secrets of living and working on the farm hidden in the hills.

 

Start the day at Granville Hotel, where you will meet your tour guide and gain an exclusive insight into the folklore and secrets of mountain life.

 

Next you will trail down to Andrew Malcolm at Crough Wood where you will experience foraging first-hand. Learn what's edible and what isn't - increasing your own personal survival instincts!

 

Understand the sustainable elements to the Ballynamult Mountain Farm discovering the organic vegetables grown on site.

 

Meet the black-faced, Scottish Sheep and witness the Shepherding in action at Mahon Falls.

Break for lunch at the converted farmhouse Cooney's Yard which is the farm's family-owned café. Here you can taste the fresh food local to the farm.

 

The tour ends back where it began at the Granville Hotel - which gives you the opportunity to explore Waterford City and uncover the historic tales of city life.

> 10am - Meet at the Granville Hotel, Waterford City.

> 10:45am - Foraging at Crough Wood

> 1.35pm - Mahon Falls

> 2.05pm - Lunch at Cooney's Yard

> 4.00pm - Granville Hotel - Tour ends but you now have the opportunity to explore the city at your own pace.

This tour involves light walking on paths that may contain uneven surfaces. Because of this, the tour is not suitable for those with mobility issues.
