Dingle Sheepdogs is set on the magnificent Slea Head Drive, where visitors can watch a local sheep farmer expertly working his dogs to manage sheep. This skill, passed down through generations, has been practised on Mount Eagle for hundreds of years.

 

Sheepdog Show

Visitors gain valuable insights into the sheep farmer's methods, learning how locals once forecasted the weather, told time without watches, and communicated with relatives up to ten miles away.

 

Famine Cottages

Explore the historic Famine Cottages, dating back to the early 1800s. This ancestral home of the Kavanagh family remains as it would have appeared during the Irish Potato Famine.

 

Beehive Huts

Discover the recently excavated Beehive Huts, dating back to the 7th century. Gain insights into these intriguing structures and learn about the lifestyles of the local inhabitants during that period.

 

Petting Farm

Meet the friendly animals at the farm! Enjoy complimentary food to feed the ponies, donkeys, and adorable lambs. Don’t miss the chance to get up close and cuddle the pet lambs when they’re in season!
