Your day trip begins begins with a bus trip to Kate Kearney's Cottage or Ross Castle.

 

From Kate Kearney's, there's a fantastic self-guided walk that's 7 miles (12km) long and takes about 2.5 to 3 hours. The path is hilly and picturesque but easy to follow, reaching a peak elevation of 840 feet. Your journey ends at Lord Brandon's Cottage, where you can relax and take in the beautiful views while enjoying a lovely café.

 

The day continues with a scenic boat ride (1.5 hours long) through the lakes of Killarney to Ross Castle and gives visitors a unique insight into the areas local history and culture. The boat has an open roof but comes with a cover if needed.

 

From Ross Castle, the bus will take you back to O'Connor's Irish Pub. Feel free to bring your own picnic lunch to enjoy along the way!

Tour Details

  • Sometimes the tour is done is reverse to suit weather conditions.

  • Comfortable footwear and rain gear is recommended.

Additional Information

  • For those who may chose not to walk, Jaunting cars are available at Kate Kearney's Cottage & Lord Brandon's Cottage (additional fee €35 pp to be paid in cash on the day).

  • The Jaunting cars take approximately 1.5 hours to travel the 7 mile journey through the Gap.
